Should I find my own dental payment plan or better to do it thru dentist?
Posted by admin in Dental Plan on October 20, 2010
Its been ages since I’ve been to the dentist & need to go asap. I have no doubt that the cost will exceed $4000. I don’t have Dental Insurance. Ive seen dental plans offered online that discount the payments. But does the rest have to be paid that day?
Or maybe I should try & work out payments thru the dentists office?
Medical Discount Plan
ideal for those who cannot afford or qualify for traditional health insurance. The companies offer discounted health services for a quite low monthly fee. Benefits include a range of discounts for doctors, hospitals, dental, vision, prescriptions, vitamins, as well as other health services.
Individual & Family Health Plans
This is a major health insurance plan for individuals and families. If you are looking for comprehensive long term health insurance coverage for yourself and/or your family members who are 62 years old or younger – this is the plan to choose.
Short Term Medical Plans
This plan is ideal for individuals in transition. Maybe you have just graduated from college and are no longer covered under your student health insurance or you moved out on your own, and you’re no longer covered under your parents’ medical insurance plan. Or perhaps you’re employed part-time, going to school, leaving home for the first time, or even retiring early. Maybe you’ve found a new job, but your new employer’s group health insurance plan won’t kick in until you’ve been with months.
YOu are not the only person who have ever met this kind of problem,I met this type of problem before.I have good experience here www.HealthInsuranceFree.info to solve the problem.

What teeth whitening products work the best?
Posted by admin in Teeth Whitening on October 12, 2010
I’m not happy with the color of my teeth recently, I’d like to whiten up to a couple of shades lighter. It just makes me really self conscious and it bothers me all the time.
I’ve heard that the crest 360 whitening system with the toothpaste and mouthwash works okay, has anyone used it?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Oh! And it has to be over the counter, something you can find at walmart or something easy. And cost friendly! I’m a broke college kid! Thanks. ![]()
I swish with hydrogen peroxide.
Its about $5 or so
Its the stuff that foams up that you put on cuts.
mix it with equal amount of water and swish for one minute after you brush your teeth. 2 times a day
DO NOT SWALLOW IT. YOU WILL GET POISONED AND IT CAN BE FATAL
Then rinse out with water for another minute or so.
or
White Strips
They have hydrogen peroxide in them
a little more expensive
or
A Water Flosser
about $40 – $60
Works VERY well
Just got one today and i can already feel results.
or
Baking soda (Arm & Hammer)
very inexpensive
cover the toothpaste line with it and brush normally
it tastes like crap but it works really well
There are lots of ways floating around the interwebs.
Just Google "Home Teeth Whitening" or something like that
What is the best teeth whitening product?
Posted by admin in Teeth Whitening on October 9, 2010
I have tried using various white strips (the old crest white strips, listerine, and colgate supreme) and a couple whitening trays but with everyone after the first treatment my teeth become sensitive and on the second i get VERY painful shocks in my teeth which i think is from the nerves. I dont know what the problem is but i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. P.S. i use sensodyne religiously and it works great just not when i try to whiten my teeth.
Going to the Dentist is always the best. They clean and polish your teeth with the correct tools.
BUT! if your on a major budget… hydrogen Peroxide. Use it everyday for about two weeks like a mouth wash for about two min. Dont forget to Rinse.
What kind of oral care products do you wish we had? (think outside of a box!)?
can be new flavor mouthwash, new type of floss, toothbrush, strip, anything!

Are the really expensive electric toothbrushes, £100+ value for money?
Posted by admin in Electric Toothbrushes on October 9, 2010
I’ve been advised to get one of these, but the range in prices is staggering. Can someone tell me what I should look for? It’s healthy teeth/mouth I’m interested in, rather than whitening.
Thanks.
I switch from both manual to electric from time to time (depending on when the battery runs out and if I’m travelling).
When I first used an electric toothbrush I found my teeth felt so much more clearner instantly. The surface felt smooth too. I get a similar feeling with a manual when i brush hard, but the clean feeling lasts longer with an electric, you can definately feel less plaque. i think thats because there is more power involved in brushing.
Besides the cleaning power, the only other advantage would be the timer mine has, so I know for definate that I’ve brushed for two minutes.
I don’t think you need to purchase one thats £100+.
If you want to buy one then get something like Oral B, but the cheaper ones, which can start from around £15. You also have to consider the price of the toothbrush heads, because they are costly too.
however if you want to stick to a manual, with the right techniques I am sure it would have the same effect.

We know that a smile costs nothing but buys everything. Everybody wants whiter teeth and a more beautiful smile. A smile is a natural gift and one should take an extra care for it. If you have a sweet smile then it certainly reflects your healthy lifestyle. You tend to smile more often due to your perfect shining teeth and also because of your high level of confidence .You spend lots of money to get your teeth whitened. Teeth whitening method is used to regain the whiteness of the teeth. These methods are very popular now a days because the procedure is very simple and successful and it also boosts your confidence level. As a result, you will get healthy and white teeth. All of us want perfection in our appearance and outlook and so the tooth plays a vital role.
Teeth whitening are a particular treatment that has been developed to remove yellowish stains and enhance the original color of the teeth. Why Anti Aging Vitamins Are More Effective Than Skin Care Creams
It’s a real treat to indulge in a beautiful pot of skin cream that promises to get rid of fine lines and prevent wrinkles – but sadly, dermatologists agree that all you will achieve is an empty wallet.
Although many of these creams contain vitamins called antioxidants, few have any effect in preventing or reversing damage to the skin caused by free radicals.
WHAT ARE ANTIOXIDANTS AND FREE RADICALS?
Antioxidants counteract the damage that free radicals can do to skin cells. Free radicals are by-products of normal chemical reactions that occur in cells. Cosmetic creams do contain antioxidants – but as a preservative – to prevent the cream from spoiling. The concentrations are very low, don’t absorb well into the skin and only have a short-term effect.
AND NOW THE GOOD NEWS…
New research suggests that improved formulations of two main antioxidants may soon be available in a form that may be effectively delivered via the skin.
SELENIUM
Selenium is a mineral which can help to protect the body from cancers. Recent studies have shown the if selenium is taken orally, it can provide protection against UV exposure. It has also been shown to maintain the elasticity of tissue and to slow down ageing. Dermatologists say that the results are promising but more studies on humans are needed.
If you can’t wait that long, selenium is found in whole grain, seafood, garlic and eggs. Or you can take an oral daily supplement.
VITAMIN E
Dermatologists consider Vitamin E the most important antioxidant. It’s known to protect cells and to prevent damage to enzymes associated with cells. Laboratory studies show that Vitamin E can help to make free radicals less able to cause damage to cells. Other studies say that Vitamin E applied to the skin can reduce damage by exposure to UV and may even limit the production of cells that may cause cancer.
Vitamin E cream is extremely cheap to buy. To include more Vitamin E in your diet, eat more vegetables and sunflower oils, grains, oats, nuts and dairy products. Dermatologists advise that taking an oral supplement of 400mg each day is known to reduce damage from UV, to reduce wrinkles and improve the texture of the skin.
VITAMIN C
Vitamin C (otherwise known as ascorbic acid) is the most prevalent antioxidant found in the body. It’s required for effective synthesis of collagen which is responsible for the strength and elasticity of the skin.
The body can’t store Vitamin C and if constant supplies are not ingested, a deficiency quickly occurs. Creating a skin cream containing Vitamin C is difficult because it decreases when exposed to oxygen. Minimal exposure to UV can decrease the body’s Vitamin C content by 30%. The ozone in city pollution can take this up to 50%.
Some medications can also lower the body’s Vitamin C – Omeprazole (a drug to reduce stomach acid) can reduce it by two thirds.
Eating citrus fruit and taking supplements can help to optimize levels of Vitamin C. However, the body will only take what it needs at the time and then excrete the rest. For this reason, Vitamin C can cause diarrhea if taken to excess. Large doses can also cause acid indigestion which can be avoided by taking the supplement with a meal.
STICK TO THE DIET
It would seem that, for the time being, better anti ageing can be achieved through the use of Vitamins and minerals in the diet – although you might like to indulge in a very inexpensive pot of Vitamin E cream!

Covering Your Smile And Eyes In Texas
Posted by admin in Dental Plan on October 9, 2010
Paying out-of-pocket for yearly dental checkups probably won’t break the bank. But what happens if you need more serious dental work? Whether you live in Texas or anywhere else in the country, a root canal or crown can easily cost more than $1,000. If you’re working, and your employer-sponsored group health insurance plan includes dental coverage as part of its benefits package, the financial blow will be less severe.
If you’re not working or you’re not offered a Dental Plan where you work, you still have the option of purchasing separate dental insurance. Dental indemnity or fee-for-service plans allow participants to visit any credentialed dentist or dental specialist they wish. The participant pays the dentist at the time of service and gets reimbursed according to the plan’s coverage. This is a plan for those who enjoy the freedom of provider selection and don’t mind a higher monthly premium and greater out-of-pocket expense.
Dental Maintenance Organization (DMO) plans require members to seek all services through their assigned dentist. These affordable plans offer preventive services at little or no cost to the member. DMO plans differ in premium and copay levels. Dental PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) plans offer patients the choice of an indemnity plan and the affordability of a managed care plan.
Having dental insurance often does not entitle you to immediate benefits. Many of the individual dental health care plans in Dallas, Houston and throughout Texas have a waiting period for certain procedures. Routine care is usually covered immediately, but you often need to be covered for six months or more before you are covered for more expensive procedures.
And while vision insurance has become a mainstay benefit for employees at larger companies, there are still many individuals who pay out of pocket for their glasses and eye exams. For those who don’t get vision coverage with their health insurance benefits package, it may be purchased separately. And it’s usually provided in the form of a Vision Maintenance Organization (VMO) or PPO network. Coverage generally includes yearly eye exams and a percentage of the cost of eyeglasses and contact lenses. Some plans cover all or a part of the cost of laser corrective surgery as well.
In addition to insurance plans, discounts plans are very common for both dental and vision. Discount plans entitle you to care, glasses, and contacts from selected providers at a reduced price. Discount plans may be available through your employer, your health insurance plan, and numerous social and professional groups or they may be purchased directly. Sometimes discount plans are combined with insurance with some services being insured and with discounts for the other services.
If you’re a young, healthy individual and you’re insured, you may not need more than regular dental and vision exams just to catch any problems before they get serious. So you could purchase individual dental and vision plans to supplement your current health plan. But if you’re a young, healthy individual who not only needs dental and vision but health insurance as well, you should take a look at the revolutionary comprehensive individual health insurance solutions created by Precedent specifically for people like you. Precedent’s health insurance plans also include dental and vision coverage, as well as prescription drug coinsurance, all for a low monthly premium of around $100 per month for most people.
