Hydrogen Peroxide for Oral Care?
I was going to start using hydrogen peroxide in my WaterPik water but before making the comittment to use it every day, I’m trying to find out more about it. The International Agency for Research on Cancer says that "hydrogen peroxide is not classifiable as to its carcinogenicity to humans." What does this mean? Does it mean that it’s not a carcinogen or they don’t know yet?
I also heard that it should not be used in combination with chlorinated tap water. Why not? Is it rendered ineffective or can it be harmful? Thanks.
I think that using hydrogen peroxide on your teeth should be fine. I know it can help with whitening and it is typically safe for teeth. Don’t use it if you have sensitive gums, but otherwise, you can.
What’s the deal with electric toothbrushes?
Posted by admin in Electric Toothbrushes on March 7, 2010
Everytime I buy an electric toothbrush, after a few weeks, they quit working. Them things are expensive. They can’t come up with something to make them last longer? You’d think with all the money they make on them they could do something….
I have a simple crest spinbrush pro and Ive used it for 2 years and I never had a problem, Ive never had to replace batteries or the head, I like it, dont get them too wet, and take off the head every other day to let it dry out, this should make it last longer.
which one is the best one for dental coverage, buying a dental plan or dental insurance? Thanx for the input?
Posted by admin in Dental Plan on March 7, 2010
I’m a 58 year old single man needing some work done on my teeth, and I was wondering, which would deliver more bang (drilling) for my buck, a dental plan or dental insurance? Thanks a head of time for your responses!
Let’s compare dental insurance vs discount Dental Plan.
With dental insurance you pay a monthly premium for which you receive dental work. The plan provider reimburses your dentist for part of the work, usually 50% to 80%, then you’re responsible for paying the rest.
Insurance plans usually have a set deductible and limits on the amount of services you can receive within a given year. There are also waiting periods of 3 to 12 months before you can receive dental treatment, and preexisting conditions are not covered.
Premiums for one person average out to $200 to $500 per year, and you can choose your own dentist.
With discount dental plans you have the option of paying monthly, quarterly, or annualyl for premiums. You can receive 10% to 80% discounts on all your dental work. There are no waiting periods before you can see a dentist or dental specialist, and preexisting conditions are covered. You can see a dentist within one to three days after joining a plan and get all the dental work you need. You can also change dentists if you prefer at any time.
Discount dental plans have no limits on the amount of work you can have done, and there are no deductibles. There are no form-filling and paperwork hassles like there are with dental insurance, and discount dental plans cover cosmetic dentistry which dental insurance doesn’t.
With these plans you can choose from over thirty nationwide networks, and more than 100,000 dentists and dental specialists. Premiums for one person are less a year than dental insurance.
Last year I needed two fillings, two root canals, and a number of crowns replaced. When I checked out dental insurance plans I found that none of the work I needed was covered. In addition, I would have to wait for six months before I could get any other work done, and the yearly premium was $420. I then took a look a discount dental plans. What a difference!
All of the work I needed was covered, I was able to see a dentist the same week I signed up for the plan, and my initial exam was free. Not only did I save more than $2,500, but I found a dentist who was virtually painless, and who took the time to explain every procedure.
If you need work now or in the future and want to save a lot of money on your dental work, discount dental plans are the way to go.

You can keep it as long as you want without committing to any contract.
Can I still get on a medical and dental insurance plan?
Posted by admin in Dental Insurance on March 7, 2010
I need to sign up with a good medical and dental insurance since my job does not offer any benefits. I was wondering if i can just sign onto a medical and Dental Insurance on an independent basis. If so, please recommend a good medical and a good dental carrier. I live in Arizona if that makes a difference. Thx in advance. PS> I wonder if there is a plan that offers both medical and dental all in one out there some where.
Google insurance companies in your area, and talk to an agent. They’ll be able to set you up with a plan that matches your needs and your finances. There are so many different plans out there for all kinds of situations, so it would be hard for us to come up with something that works for you, without knowing your health history, etc.

I need help finding insurance for dental, health, or both. At the moment all I need is dental but I would like to get both if it’s not too expensive.
Any recommendations? Please help me out. Thank you!
I completely understand where you are coming from. I would encourage you to visit this great website: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up online over 5 years ago when I was also in college and was looking for some type of affordable coverage. They have saved me thousands on all services. From exams, Root canals, xrays, cleanings etc. Even my braces were covered. They even had my very affordable plan active in 2 hours and was able to use the plan the very same day. Good luck and hope this helps
