Choosing The Right Supplemental Dental Insurance Plan

Many of the insurance plans do cover Dental Health but it would still leave out many expenses for which you’ll have to shell out money from your own pocket. So, assuming that your insurance plan is taking care of your dental health can be a big mistake.

Not just that, there is also the possibility of your dental insurance plan not covering the entire cost of your dental treatment. This happens because most of the insurance plans focus on covering bigger treatment expenses. In doing so, they leave out the minor expenses, which pile up into a considerable amount. It is in this situation that supplemental dental insurance helps.

Supplemental dental insurance is not another kind of dental insurance by another name. You need to have a proper dental care insurance besides the supplemental one because the latter helps one cover the cost of such dental needs that are not covered either by your primary health insurance or the dental insurance.

One of these are dental discount plans, which are carefully devised to reduce dental costs by making the dentist lower their rates for individual clients in lieu of the volume of patients they get. Now, these are not actually dental insurance plans but since they pass a part of the benefit to the patient, much of the treatment cost is absorbed. You pay a regular fee to the company providing such services. The amount you pay is far smaller than what you save. The financial burden is thus reduced. Such a plan can cost one as little as $5.

I realize that after some months using Commission Blueprint 2 that it was and still is the best IM product I have ever purchased without any doubts.

To this day the guys who created it are still sharing new tools with us purchasers that is shooting our sites into the top ten of Google with somewhat of great ease. If you want to read more about my use of this tool, visit Commission Blueprint 2 Review here.

For college students in particular, there are discount dental plans, which work much the same way as any other discount dental plan. The only difference is- many colleges opt for such plans for their students. These plans normally have limited benefit and cover things like regular cleanings, fluoride treatment, x-rays, and emergency dental treatment for pain relief.

Another popular supplemental dental insurance is the preferred provider network, which has a list of dental professionals for you to choose from. If you go to any one of them, the charges are heavily discounted. The plan pays a fixed fee to the dentist for the services rendered and whatever is left is paid by you. So, they pay for the service and you pay the additional cost.

These are some of the choices you have. The plans may differ on finer points, but basically they are either one of them or a combination of one or more.

Open Medicare to all ages vs. Universal Healthcare?
I do not know what I am missing but why would the government create Universal Healthcare when the government could open Medicare to all ages? People will still be accountable for a % of their healthcare and still everyone would be accepted for a premium. And, this would solidify Medicare for the 65+ community. The health insurance companies should love this because a supplemental plan could be offered to people under 65. Not to mention it is already established and much cheaper to administer vs. universal healthcare.

I think I would rather have that than taxing the American people on a 50% tax base. That is what it is in Europe. The people taking the Medicare plan would have the premiums deducted from their payroll checks…just like we do right now for the 65+ or a bill sent to the self employed. Most of the people that are poor get Medicaid anyway…what is the difference?

And, if you want to see what Universal Healthcare will be like, take a look at Medicaid. HMOs that are offered where only crappy doctors take the insurance. The good doctors will not elect to be part of Universal Healthcare and privatize their practices. How does that help everyone? Again only the rich will have access to quality healthcare. And…we will pay in taxes a premium for that crap.

I have a friend that lives in Europe and has told me the restraints put on their access to healthcare. He purchased supplemental insurance to pick up where the insurance fell short. His son had a cleft lip when he was born. Under the Universal Healthcare plan, his son would have had surgery at 5 years old. This would have screwed up his teeth which would mean very expensive dental bills. Since he had a supplemental policy, his son was allowed to have the surgery at 2 years old with minimal impact on his dental health.

What do you think and why would you chose one or the other? There must be a reason why the government is not chosing the Medicare route because I think it is pretty obvious. But, maybe I am missing a very important point and this is why I am coming to you. Tell me what you think..
When I talk about 65+ having the premiums taken from their pay, I mean Social Security…
I understand what you are saying about Medicare being more expensive than some healthcare plans. On a group plan, BCBS is $380/mo and Vista is $340/mo for a 41 year old. However, there are many limitations that are not part of the Medicare program.

Thanks for your thought. It is a good one but do you think that Universal Healthcare would be cheaper than the health insurance? Not to mention that private insurance excludes certain individuals for pre-existing conditions. Something that Medicare would not do…

if you want to make health insurance affordable all you have to do is open it up to where you can get health insurance from any state…I only 300 a month for a family of 4 in Texas but I have heard of people paying much more than that in other states…it would be easy to get health insurance to 250 a family like the New plan just by doing this and we could also keep the Government out of it…
If you get health insurance from work there is no such thing as pre-existing conditions and more and more insurance companies are now accepting people with pre-existing conditions.
Another way to get the cost of medical care down is by letting us by our prescriptions from Different countries over the internent…Perscriptions are much cheaper in Mexico now if you live close to the boarder you can by your meds from mexico as long as you have a Perscription..but we all do not live that close

Either government option is very a very poor choice. Medicare and Medicaid are the plans in the US with incredible cost increases. Way beyond that of private plans.
Every thing can always be better but when 77% of people with insurance like their plan I would say there’s your model.
Pretax dollars for health care, allow small business access to the risk appropriate larger insurance pools with out penalty and help for the truly poor CITIZENS.
We all have stores about the highway department, motor vehicle department, postal system, TSA etc; that type of system running health care — based on their well established track records; no thank you
