I shopped for dental, accident, and health insurance a few weeks back and I am self-employed and I ended up finding a few sites that were very valuable. First I found my dental plan through http://UnitedDentalInsurance.com it took me a while to find real dental insurance, not the crazy dental discount plans that are pasted all over the internet.
Second I found a site, http://AccidentAndHealthinsurance.us which has the best accident policy for the rate. I only pay $35 a month and my whole family is covered with the accident policy.
Lastly, I found http://HealthInsuranceReviews.com this site kept me from buying a bad hospital plan and rather I got a real health insurance policy with United Heath One and I am really happy with my coverage.

I’d recommend you find a good insurance broker (NOT an agent–those guys work for the insurance company).
An independent broker knows what’s out there in your state and can advise you.
I will add that it is seldom worthwhile to purchase dental insurance as an individual. If you can get it through your employer it may be worthwhile. You might also get info about dental plans and have your dentist look at it. Your dentist knows your mouth and what kind of treatment you’ve needed in the past. Then you can look at your dental expenses over time, look at the provisions of the plan and the premium to make an informed decision as to whether a plan is worth it.
One more thing–there are dental discount plans out there. They are NOT insurance.plans. Dentists sign up on a list and agree to a reduced fee schedule. Not always (but too often) these dentists tend to "bait and switch" to non-covered services. I’d avoid discount plans.

YOU can get information from your local insurance commission. You can also get, detailed quotes from an insurance broker. Insurance brokers unlike insurance agents have access to wide variety of insurance carriers. For mor details you can visit . http://www.lsminsurance.ca
