Can electric toothbrushes be harmful to your teeth?
Posted by admin in Electric Toothbrushes on June 8, 2010
No because when you brush too hard with an electric toothbrush the motor stops and an electric toothbrush like the Sonicare is 100x more effective than brushing with a manual toothbrush. I am the type of person that has the mentality of "if it doesn’t hurt/burn it’s not working" so I tend to brush to hard. I am a very aggressive brusher and have caused damage to my teeth from brushing too hard. I got a Sonicare and what an experience that was. I made a mess, all while trying to help the toothbrush brush. I used it for several days then switched back to my manual brush. I ended up trowing the manual away because my teeth felt dingy and yucky, nothing like the nice fresh from the dentist feeling I get with my electric toothbrush.
Get a Sonicare…you’ll love it too!!!
What is a good website for finding dental insurance?
Posted by admin in Dental Insurance on June 8, 2010
I am trying to buy Dental Insurance online, but I am not sure where to begin. There are a ton of sites out there that let you compare plans and so on, but I don’t know which ones are legit. I prefer websites with forums and such, where actual people make comments and reviews. Also, it seems like the only plans I have been able to find are discount plans. Where can I find full coverage dental insurance? Thanks.
YOu are not the only one who met this problem,I have met this type of problem before.I have good experience here www.HealthInsuranceIdeas.info to solve my similiar problem.
What is the best teeth-whitening system?
Posted by admin in best teeth whitening on June 8, 2010
I’m trying to find out what is the best teeth-whitening system without going to the dentist for a professional whitening. I’m researching for my fiance, who is in the Marines. Because he doesn’t have the time, as well as all the amount of paperwork he would need to file to get a whitening done, we want to find something over-the-counter. He has really sensitive gums, so I’m nervous for him to use the white-strips. Do the trays seem to work better? Or is there another product someone could recommend? Any suggestions would be great…thanks!

Could anyone suggest me the most decent and economical Dental Plan in Illinois?
Posted by admin in Dental Plan on June 5, 2010
Some decent reliable provider company with an economically comprehensive plan. I really nee dto get done my teeth work ASAP but I don’t have any dental plan and it costs alot when I pay with my pocket.
Please let me know as soon as possible.
Thanks alot.
I would check into a discount Dental Plan. It is important to compare monthly cost of the plan, number of local providers and savings that each plan provides. I have listed a couple of good sites below that I used to pick out a discount plan for my family.

Get an Amazing Teeth Whitening for Less Than 5 Bucks

Amazing Teeth Whitening for Less Than 5 Dollars
Do you want whiter teeth for under 5 dollars? For years, film stars and pro entertainers have impressed us with their sparkling white smile. Typically , these people have spent thousands of dollars on professional teeth lightening treatments from dental specialists. In the hopes of gaining the same pearly whites for a tiny part of the price tag, many people have turned to making their own teeth whitening techniques from home treatments they’ve found on the web.
And while there are a few methodologies that are proven to whiten teeth, not all of these products are healthy for the purpose of teeth lightening. Using natural teeth whiteners saves money on the whitening process, but can do significant long-term damage to your teeth and gums.
Using lemons and lemon juice is one of the natural home techniques that many people try to bleach teeth. Brushing with lemon juice or placing a lemon peel on the teeth will cause the teeth to be whiter. However, this method can be quite detrimental to your teeth. Lemons and lemon juice are high in acid. The acids in lemons and other acidic fruit rob your tooth enamel of calcium. When the calcium is removed, your teeth appear whiter, but they’re weaker and make you vulnerable to other tooth issues. It isn’t a reasonable idea to use acidic products on your teeth.
If you get your teeth whitened in the dentists office, it will set you back about $500 bucks. So what can you do if you want whiter teeth, but you are on a tight budget? Relax, there is a solution. Thanks to a discovery by a mother from Princeton, NJ, you can whiten your teeth for less than $5.00. She found this trick by combining 2 separate teeth whitening trials online. For an investment of less $5.00, she discovered an amazing teeth whitening process that rivals what you would expect to get from your local dentist. And her cost was about one / hundredth of what she’d have paid the dentist! The trick is that she used two trial offers from the web that cost her only a few greenbacks for shipping.
She found out that there are 2 main solutions for the sort of teeth whitening she wanted. The two procedures included whitening pens and whitening trays. She found trial offers for both of these products and used both the pens and the trays together.
Her tiny experiment turned into a powerful discovery. Her results were significantly better than she had imagined. In fact, it looked as good, or maybe better, than what she’d have expected from a Teeth Whitening procedure by her local dentist. And when you consider that it cost her one / 100th of the price that her dentist had quoted, she was delighted.
The secret of the process was combining the 2 different trial products and using them one immediately after another. This simple combination produced an amazing whitening effect that cost only a few bucks. After just 3 days of use, she began to see results. Her pals commented on how great she looked and confirmed what she saw in the mirror every morning.
The trick is to use the 2 products, one following the other, to whiten your teeth and give yourself a smile that is’s impossible to believe.
Check out this amazing teeth whitening discovery, after all, it will only cost you a few bucks! Get additional information and the links to both free trial products at $5 Teeth Whitening!
Remember, to get fabulous results like hers, you’ll have to use BOTH products, one after the other.

Migraines and Oral Contraception
Oral contraception is a popular form of birth control but many women find that it alters their headache or migraine pattern or even prompts new headaches where previously there were none. Some women are fortunate in that they actually experience less frequent headaches after commencing birth control. Still others find that the intensity diminishes and for some women there is no change and they continue to search for effective migraine treatment. Overall, more women will begin to experience migraines after starting oral contraception and this would indicate that there is probably a link between the two.
Those who also show a familial history of migraines may be further predisposed to these types of headaches and should approach oral contraception use carefully and with additional medical supervision.
Migraine Treatment When You’re Taking Oral Contraception
When migraines do occur in women who take oral contraception, treatment is generally the same as that recommended for women who are not taking the pill and who experience migraines coinciding with menstruation. If you tend to experience migraine attacks around the same time each month, you can use a preventative approach and take prescription medications a few days prior to the expected attack.
Oral contraception tends to regulate a woman’s menstrual cycle so it can actually be easier to predict the onset of a migraine attack each month. If medications aren’t effective, however, your doctor may then recommend a different oral contraceptive pill or a new form of birth control entirely. You may also find that if you do stop oral contraception, it can take several months or longer for migraines to completely stop. Your hormones can take time to adjust and each woman will be different in adapting. Your migraines will either stop or return to the original pattern experienced prior to starting oral contraception.
Should I Stop Taking the Pill?
It’s not wise to stop your method of contraception without first consulting your doctor. There are many other options, including various types of oral contraception as well as non- oral birth control methods. Your doctor can discuss the appropriate choices for you, which will depend on many factors such as your age, family history and any health conditions or risk factors you may have. Sometimes trying a birth control pill in a different dose or an alternate form of oestrogen can improve headaches. It can, however, make migraines worse so it is essentially trial-and-error when finding a type of oral contraception that is compatible with your body.
If you find that your migraines increase or only strike during your pill free week, you may have the option of taking oral contraception constantly. If this is the case, you would simply eliminate the week where you consume a placebo pill or no pill at all. You may experience other side effects such as spotting if you do switch to a constant cycle of oral contraception, but most women will find that this resolves after several months.
A Note of Caution
Care should be taken because recent studies have linked migraines to an increased risk of ischaemic stroke. The risk is also higher in migraine with aura as opposed to migraine without aura. Since oral contraceptives do increase the risk of stroke in those who don’t experience migraine, this risk is compounded when migraines are added to the mix.
The risk of ischaemic stroke is usually higher in older women and your doctor will assess your health, age and other risk factors to determine if oral contraception will substantially increase your risk of ischaemic stroke. Factors such as smoking and cardiovascular conditions combined with the presence of migraines may mean that oral contraception is not right for you.
Birth control is important for any woman wishing to avoid pregnancy. If your oral contraception is making your migraine headaches worse, however, you may need to look to other ways of preventing pregnancy. You should not be alleviating a pregnancy concern only to replace it with a monthly dread of migraines. A discussion with your doctor and perhaps some trial-and-error will hopefully help you to find the right contraceptive method that allows you to enjoy migraine-free living.

How to be a Dental School Superstar
Posted by admin in Dental Plan on June 4, 2010
The dental profession is an exciting and engaging career choice. If you are to go to dental school, you will face some extraordinary challenges on your way to becoming a dentist. However, the most successful dentists will take these challenges head on and go above and beyond what is required to get through dental school. Here are some ways that you can become a dental school superstar.
Plan Ahead
To be a dental school superstar, you will want to go to a great dental school where you can really shine. Make sure you have taken college courses that will appeal to top dental schools. Many of the courses you will want to take will be similar to those pre-med students will take, although there may be some differences. If you are still in college, consult your advisor or the science departments to determine the best courses to take.
Master Communication Skills
While many students will be able to learn the basic information needed to perform dental procedures, this will not necessarily make them great dentists. Being able to communicate with patients, to understand their pains and help them understand how to prevent and treat dental maladies, is what separates good dentists from great ones. Demonstrating these skills in dental school will separate you from the pack.
Do The Work
Of course, being a great communicator at a great school will not help you if you cannot master the basic information. Mastery of dental techniques will require a lot of memorization, a lot of focus, and a lot of practice. In college, you may have had professors, parents, or the threat of poor grades to inspire you to always do your best work. In dental school, you will have only the promise of a great career to inspire you. This will have to be enough. You cannot decide to start giving it your all halfway through your dental school experience and expect to prosper.
Hone Your Observational Skills
The best way to learn something is to observe someone who does it well, and then practice it yourself. Be aware of everything that is being taught, especially in a clinical setting. Pay careful attention to technique and style, and endeavor to duplicate successful techniques and styles in your own work.
Help Each Other
Your fellow students can be a great asset if you let them, especially if they also wish to excel. Use your classmates to test one another, try out ideas and theories, and discuss what you have learned. This will help you absorb and integrate lessons faster.
