Question about electric toothbrushes and senstive toothbrush heads?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Oral-B-Sensitive-Replacement-Rechargeable-Toothbrush/dp/B0000C05JX

Has anyone used these? Are they good?

I heard that hard toothbrushes can damage teeth and gums, but would soft ones be too soft to clean the teeth effectively?

I realize that after some months using Commission Blueprint 2 that it was and still is the best IM product I have ever purchased without any doubts.

To this day the guys who created it are still sharing new tools with us purchasers that is shooting our sites into the top ten of Google with somewhat of great ease. If you want to read more about my use of this tool, visit Commission Blueprint 2 Review here.

Thanks :)

Yes, you are right about the hard toothbrushes causing damage.

The soft toothbrushes are the best, provided you use it for adequate amount of time.

My daughter had a retainer and our insurance carrier, Cigna covered $1500 of it. Now she needs braces and my husband’s company is changing dental providers to Guardian. Will that Lifetime Maximum start over with the new dental provider?

What teeth whitening strips work better after braces?

I just had my braces taken off and would like my teeth whiter before i start school…

any strip that reallly work?

and if i combine strips with whitening toothpaste will that speed up the process?

I can say that most of my patient’s have had some measure of success with the Crest Whitestrips, some more than others. Our office uses the Supreme which are 4 times stronger than what you can get in the store, but the others will work as well but take more time and possibly more than one kit. The results are usually pretty quick, noticeable in the first few days, best in a week or longer. If you can, do yourself the favor of using them right after you get your teeth cleaned as any staining and buildup (tartar, plaque, or orthodontic cement) will impede their ability to work. They will not whiten any white fillings you may have, but whiten uniformly. Also, don’t use fluoride toothpaste before putting the strips on (same reason). You should not drink or eat anything dark for at least 1/2 hour after using the strips.
The strips/trays are your least costly whitening method as compared to custom made trays or in office whitening ($500.00+) All of the methods (strips, trays, custom trays, in office whitening) have the potential to make your teeth temporarily sensitive, but will not harm the enamel. If you get sensitive use the product every other day in conjunction with a sensitive tooth toothpaste. You might try to drink dark liquids through a straw and don’t smoke. Most whitening toothpastes just remove stain on the surfaces of your teeth and therefore are not so effective. Whatever method you use it will not whiten your teeth for life, as you age your teeth will get darker and may need to be whitened again.

Good luck!

Are electric toothbrushes better for your teeth than using a manual toothbrush?

Hi there.

The answers to this question are most probably going to be personal opinions and experiences, but I personally think that electric toothbrushes are far better. They clean where a manual one cannot. Some of the posh, expensive ones even send out electric currents through your teeth and gums to stimulate proper cleaning and less plaque!

Anyhow, Electric Toothbrushes all the way :)

what is the best dental insurance plan?

i’m looking to buy a dental plan and i have no idea about different tips of plans like DHMO, PPO and …
please help me with your experiences and comments.

a PPO is ok, but sometimes it’s better to just be a cash patient, most offices will give you a discount. Depending on how much work you have to be done sometimes you’ll pay more for the insurance then you would just getting your cleanings and check ups every year. Dental Insurance isn’t like health insurance, it’s basically a discount plan, sure they pay for some of your treatment but not 100% of everything. They make alot of exclusions too, for example, most don’t pay for fluoride on adult patients, but most adults need it. Dental insurance is a business, they’re out to make money not protect your best interests. If you have to choose, pick whatever the highest option is, look to see if it covers orthodontic coverage. Figure out how much you have to pay for it per month, then figure out how much it costs you to go to the dentist without insurance.

Why is good dental insurance so hard to find?

Dental care is SO expensive, the insurance is terrible, does not cover anything. Why is this? Why cant it be included in health insurance?

You have three options with dental.

Insurance – Depending upon the policy: cost $30-$60 per month. $50 deductible, annual maximum of $750 – $1500, waiting period up to 18 months for major work and then you’re paying 50% of the charges. Example – average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With insurance you pay $414 after paying 18 months of premium (around $800 or $900). Advantage – you can use any dentist with most plans.

Discount plans – Cost – $5-$10 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Also, hardly any dentists will accept the plan and when they do you MIGHT get a 10% discount, which is about the same discount you can get by paying cash. Example – average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With discount plans you pay around $746.

Fee for Service discount plans – Cost $7-$15 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Many dentist will accept the plan (check providers first before signing up with any plan). When you use the plan there is a set fee that the dentist will charge you. Example – average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With fee for service plans you pay as little as $404.

I’m an insurance agent and my personal plan is the fee for service plan. I got mine here http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?locationid=20349 specifically the Aetna Dental Access plan.
